TREATISE TREATISE was an EC Intelligent Energy Europe project that operating from January 2005 to June 2007 providing free training on sustainable transport subjects, primarily for energy and transport professionals. The project covered three areas:
- Cleaner Fuels & Vehicles: an explanation of the key vehicle fuels and technologies, including their advantages, disadvantages, availability and cost.
- Ecodriving: The techniques – and the theory behind them - that lead to more efficient driving.
- Mobility Management: practical advice on how to reduce dependence on single-occupancy car travel.
The Energy Saving Trust The (EST) was the UK Treatise partner. EST was set up by the Government after the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the UK's leading organisations working to reduce carbon emissions, which are leading to climate change.
EST aims to cut carbon emissions by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy in households, small businesses, the public sector and the transport sector. EST is a not-for-profit organisation funded by Government and the private sector
